We sink, to where the darkness first began,
Where Evil’s word took shelter from the light.
We cannot see his face, but hear the man,
The architect of never-ending night.
“Beware. You cannot steal away my soul.
The best of it was broken, long ago.
An orchestra of horrors fills this hole.
I stay, for I have nowhere else to go.
A thousand years of pain for every note;
My punishment, no less than I expect,
Subjected to the symphonies I wrote,
By all the pure perfection I reject.”
Tall speakers, stacked, surround him where he sits,
Tormenting him with ‘Disco’s Greatest Hits’.
