In winter, when the Glistening begins
Enthusiastic children swarm the shore
They walk in wonder, covering their skins
With mysteries too tempting to ignore
The living light, a blessing from the sea
Communicates a gift from those below
Revealing to the chosen, always three
A doorway to the world beyond its glow
The Few are pulled to penetrate the waves
Enchanted by a magic of the mind
With sacrifice the ceremony saves
A future for the many left behind
The Glistening is far beyond our ken
And those it seeks are never seen again
